Driver Certificate of Competence (DCPC)

On the 10th September 2009 a new EU Directive (2003/59 EC) came into force for all professional LGV Drivers.

This directive is now known as Driver CPC and will require existing LGV Licence holders who drive professionally to complete 35 hours of accredited training every 5 years. New LGV drivers that wish to drive professionally will now have to complete the four modules that make up the Initial Qualification

The Government has appointed the DSA as the competent body to oversee the implementation of this directive and Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training (JAUPT) was formed to control the accreditation of training providers, training centers and training courses.

Euro1 Training Ltd is a JAUPT approved training centre based in Doncaster and are able to deliver a range of JAUPT approved courses. We are currently delivering a JAUPT approved course entitled Driver Essentials. This course is seven hours and covers EU Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive, Digital Tachograph and Daily Walk round checks.

We are now running a seven hours Periodic Training session on the last Wed. of each month. Costs including the relevant training manual  and the DSA upload fees of £8.75 are £65.00 per person per 7 hour training session. Clients that require in-house Periodic Training can arrange for our JAUPT approved Instructor to carry out training for up to 10 people at their premises. Costs for the in-house training should be around £50 per person for groups of 10 or more.
