To train candidates to safely manoeuvre and drive vehicles on site.
Course Details
Main Areas Covered by Course:
•Introduction to the course.
•Daily inspections of vehicle.
•Coupling & uncoupling articulated Vehicles,loading/unloading if required.
•Manoeuvring, operation and control.
•Banksman signalling and positioning.
•Safety while reversing.
•Awareness of blind spots.
•Ability test/ exercise.
On completion of the course, candidates will receive an ITSSAR course attendance certificate.
Workplace Risk Assessment Course.
Course Overview.
The course is designed to provide Delegates with the knowledge and skills to understand the principles and methodology of risk assessment and how to take a structured approach to carry out a workplace risk assessment with confidence.
Risk assessment is central to effective management of health and safety and if conducted properly will play a key part in ensuring the health and safety of anyone who may be affected by your work activities.
Who should attend.
This one-day workshop is aimed at any body who has a responsibility to manage health and safety or who has been appointed by their employer to conduct general workplace risk assessments.
Skills Gained
By the end of this course you will be able to:
•Appreciate the moral, legal and financial reasons for reducing injury and ill health resulting from work activities.
•Understand the relationship between hazard, risk, risk assessment and safe systems of work.
•Understand the importance, and application of the risk control hierarchy.
•Be able to identify the different types of risk assessments required in their workplace.
•Be able to apply the principles and methodology of general risk assessment to given work situations.
Course Outline
•Overview of relevant legislation to include sections of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
•Principles of Risk Assessment.
•Hazard identification.
•Designing safe systems of work from the risk assessment Specific requirements for those whose H & S at work you are responsible.
•Practical exercise on conducting general workplace risk assessments with feedback to delegates on assessments conducted.
On completion of the course and ITSSAR Certificate of attendence will be issued
