Euro1 Training Ltd has been helping men and women transfer into the construction sector for many years.
You will require health and safety training before being allowed on site and this is achieved at Euro1 by tutoring you to pass the CSCS test and helping you to obtain your CSCS card.
Discuss with potential employer which accredited card they recognise and then train to that standard, CPCS, ITSSAR or NPORS.
There is no HSC approved system for training plant operators other than lift truck operators. There is however a legal duty for every employer to ensure that their employers are adequately trained for the machinery they operate (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 regulation 9). There are many different schemes in operation, each employer should satisfy themselves that training standard of the scheme they accept means that operators are competent to use each piece of equipment that they will be required to operate.
Euro1 Training Ltd can train to which ever accreditation standard is required, CPCS, ITSSAR or NPORS. Trainees should enquire from prospective employers what accreditation will be recognised on that specific site.
Employers are entitled to require their plant operators to be trained to any scheme which they think is appropriate to their workplace, as long as completion of the training certificate the company chooses means that employees are competent to operate the mobile plant they will be using.
For rider operated lift trucks, the HSE recognise each of the five accrediting bodies equally, but has no powers to dictate to companies which of the schemes they accept.
No, driving a car and operating mobile plant are very different tasks, although they use some of the same skills. There is no legal requirement for plant operators to hold a road driving license unless they wish to drive their vehicles on the public highway. All plant driven on the public highway must comply with the appropriate road traffic legislation.
Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) – is a card scheme to prove the skills of plant operators. CPCS is the largest and most highly recognised card scheme for the plant industry. It helps to prove workers' operating skills and health and safety awareness.
The Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) provides a single skills card for the plant sector of the construction industry.
The scheme itself is quite a process and requires an investment of both time and money to pass the theory and practical tests which will then start you on your CPCS training journey.
Euro1 is a CPCS test centre for certain catagories of plant and mechinery. We are constantly adding to our CPCS training prospectus. Please call 01302 337530 for our up to date list of CPCS accredited training courses. The link below should provide more information on this process.
CSCS was set up to help the construction industry to improve quality and reduce accidents.
CSCS cards are increasingly demanded as proof of occupational competence by contractors, public and private clients and others. They cover hundreds of occupations so whatever you do in construction there will be a card that is suitable for you.
Euro1 can help you prepare for the CSCS Test, book you a test and support you in getting you card.
Please follow the link below for further information about CSCS cards.
